But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

I feel that Global Warming does occur, but is not a direct result from humans. Looking to history, the average temperature of the Earth has warmed 0.8 degrees Celsius over the past century. However, this rise simply follows the same trends that Earth has had before. Looking even further back, the rings on trees that help determine temperature from thousands of years ago were thick and thus imply that temperature has been high in history and is repeating itself now.
However, today's instance of global warming is affected by all the pollutants from machinery and vehicles. Even just within the US and all of its clean air policies, 60 million tons of carbon monoxide are pumped into the atmosphere. All this pollution certainly cannot be good for global warming or the environment, but my main point is that Climate Change does pose a pressing matter for society, is real, and only influenced by humans.
