Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Zero-Energy Houses

Very near where I live in Seattle, about a year ago, this Zero-Energy house popped up. I find the concept fascinating. I feel this is a very viable solution for cutting down on emissions, without breaking the bank. (https://zerohouse.wordpress.com/)

Do you think this will catch on in the future? or do you think no one will really end up building any of these?

in some of the plans it shows that solar panels are used which can be pricing for one family, in addition the zero-energy life style could be difficult for some people. Also it could be defiantly useful for places in like California seeing they can and do use a lot of energy and there are more days of sun there in general
