The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?
Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused? >
Climate change is real and Humans are one of the main factors
Climate change is a real problem that has been happening for millions of years. There are many factors that effect climate change such as, more Carbon Dioxide and heat trapping gasses being added to the atmosphere, greenhouse gas emissions. Humans are also a factor that is leading to climate change increasing. As humans there are many ways we add the the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The use of cars is one of the many ways that Carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. Cars burn gasoline which then releases carbon dioxide which traps heat and causes the earths temperature to rise. Humans are one of the main causes of climate change and this needs to be fixed.
Another factor leading to climate change is greenhouse gas emissions.Greenhouse gas is one of the main effects on climate change in the 20th centuries the emissions worldwide increased by 35 percent from 1990 to 2010. Higher emissions of greenhouse gasses cause the greenhouse effect, which traps heat from the sun and in turn, raises the temperature of the earth. Climate change has had big affe cts on the world recently, like the drought in California. Right now in California, there is so little water that some lakes have completely dried up and there has been little rain in the past couple years. As humans there are many ways to slow down climate change like using public transportation more often and instead of driving everywhere we can ride bikes. People have been turning their backs on this problem and they need to see what is really happening to the world because of climate change.
