Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

The Natural Carbon Creator

With everybody trying to learn about different ways CO2 is released and how to stop it, most people don't see what's right under their noses. All day, every day, humans and most other animals naturally release large, concentrated amounts of carbon with every exhale. With billions of people, and people being around for thousands of recorded years (not to mention other animals), it's no wonder the atmosphere is full of carbon! The concentration of CO2 released with exhalation can reach up to 40,000 to 50,000 ppm! When people blame things like the industrial revolution for polluting the earth (it did, just not as much as it seems) they don't realize that oxygen turning into CO2 has been a natural, essential, process of life for millions of years.

One reason it may seem as though the industrial revolution was a main cause for carbon pollution, is that it took place right after the agricultural revolution. The agricultural revolution produces more food, which increased population, which increased breathing. Also, the body can tolerate carbon, and it even contributes to li ving longer, as it has certain molecules necessary for life. So, instead of blaming humans for polluting the earth with smog, think about little things that build up. Unless you want to decrease the population of humans and other CO2 creating animals (in order to save them I might add) don't worry or complain so much.

I totally agree with you Carbon Dioxide is released into the air everyday by humans and we don't even care.  We just go on with our lives, but that Carbon Dioxide that is being released can really affect us we just don't know yet.  The Carbon Dioxide that goes up into the air gets trapped in our atmosphere and with the help of methane gas creates a green house gas that changes the climate.  While the climate isn't affecting us that badly right now, later in our lives we have start controlling how much Carbon Dioxide we release.
Also the Carbon Dioxide that we release affects the oceans too.  When we release it sometimes it won't go to the atmosphere and will instead fall into the oceans and make it more acidic.  Everyday about a lot of Carbon Dioxide lands in the oceans and it always make it more acidic.  If we keep doing this to the ocean marine life will start to die and the water may start to not be safe enough to swim in.
Carbon Dioxide affects humans in their everyday life, but it doesn't just affect us it also effects the things around us to.  We release abundant a mounts of Carbon Dioxide into the air and most people don't even know or they don't care.  Right now the carbon dioxide is building in the atmosphere and creating a greenhouse gas, but also it is making the ocean more acidic and dangerous.  We need to put an end to the amount of Carbon Dioxide that we release or else someday it will start to affect us.
