From my knowledge, I believe that climate change is human caused. If one looks at the temperature shift starting at the industrial revolution in the late 1700s because of the increase of carbon emissions and other gases into our atmosphere. This caused what is known as the "greenhouse effect", a phenomenon that traps heat from the sun and does not allow it to exit the earth's atmosphere into space. Stopping this diffusion, the gases like methane and carbon act as a blanket to retain heat and raise the temperature of the earth as a whole. This rise in temperature results in the talked about parts of Climate change like the ice caps melting and change in weather patterns. I think because of the strong evidence of the increase in man-made green house gases and the role that "greenhouse effect" has on the earth that humans are the main cause for such a current speedy climate change.

I agree with you, Lindsay, that climate change is human caused. The "greenhouse gases" affect more than just the ice caps. Because of the retained heat due to the greenhouse gases, we have more wildfires. Wildfires are becoming much more common and lengthy. In some states, scientists are beginning to think that year-round fire seasons are going to be the new normal. Due to the increasing wildfires, smoke is rising and then landing on glaciers, causing them to melt and flow into the ocean, along with the other bad gases that had landed on the glaciers from the smoke. From there, the ocean becomes more acidic due to the carbon from the glaciers. All of these issues tie together; they are all caused by climate change. If we want to fix this problem, we all have to help by doing jobs to lower carbon levels, like using less electricity, and recycling when we can. They are small jobs, but small things add up. I feel that if we all worked together to beat this problem, we could accomplish our goal.
