Some say that humans are the main cause of global warming, and others say that humans ARE the cause of global warming. Humans definitely have raised the temperature a little past what would naturally occur, but the Earth does play its role. Greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere trap the sun's rays and heat the planet, as that is what they are made to do. Statistics have shown that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere determines the temperature. We are actually living in a warm period. Warm periods happen sporadically between ice ages, usually lasting 10,000-20,000 years. Ever since the Industrial Revolution in the mid to late  1800's, humans have burned fossil fuels, cleared forests, and created a lot more man made things than before.
      95% of scientists believe humans are to blame for the problems we face today. I agree with them wholeheartedly. Humans have damaged the Earth and I believe it's our job to do what we can to fix it. I'm not saying that I'm perfect, I've got my own carbon footprint, but I'm aware of mine, like everyone else on this site. The sea levels cou ld rise 3 feet, consuming well known, sea side cities with a sea level of 0, like Manhattan, Venice...I think a step in the right direction would be to make everyone on the planet aware of their contribution to global warming. Another problem humans have caused is deforestation. Deforestation burns fossil fuels in the process, and takes away trees, which convert CO2 into Oxygen, which humans happen to need to survive. Hey, I'm just saying, don't take away something that you know, in the corner of your mind you need, only to regret it later. CO2 levels have risen by 40% past the natural amount, just by human activity.   
   Humans do play a huge role in the ever increasing temperature of the planet, but Earth helps us along. CO2 is trapped in places like the ocean floor and the glaciers. The CO2 in the glaciers make them heat up faster, and they melt quicker. Ice has the highest reflectivity of a natural object, so it stays cool by not absorbing much heat. The warming of the Earth melts the ice, releasing the trapped CO2 and exposing the land, which lowers the reflectivity of the ice, causing it to heat up and melt faster. Humans are not the only cause for global warming. Wildfires, glacial melting, and oceans are also a cause for climate change. However, humans do have a small part in climate change. Humans are constantly making more factories to create our supplies that we need in life to live and survive. These factories that are taking over are also producing Carbon Dioxide into the air. The CO2 is what heats up our Earth's atmosphere and effects everything. The greenhouse effect traps energy from the sun in the atmosphere. This is bad. Therefor, humans aren't the only cause to Global warming/climate change.

M totally agree, before of us carbon footprint existed but not in the amount of today's world. We are responsible for it, we need to contribute.and try to lower our footprint. Different nature gases, and wildfires create carbon dioxide but we are a bigger about. Imagine we are a lot and if everyone produce higher carbon footprint it will affect worst that wildfires and natural gases.
