I believe we do have a great deal to do with the climate change but we are not the only ones contributing to the carbon dioxide out put. Animals breath oxygen there for releasing carbon. Of course they don't crate the same amounts of carbon out puts that we do, but it is a contributing factor. Also volcanos are a huge carbon out put. Although they don't erupt everyday but when they do it is a huge eruption. On graphs of earths climate changes the spikes in temperature changes are right around the same time a volcanic eruption happened.I believe we are the number one creator of carbon dioxide out put but I also know we are not the only carbon producing thing on earth.

I agree that there are other factors on earth besides humans that can release carbon dioxide and create climate change. Although those factors like volcanoes bring an intial rise in carbon dioxide emissions and contribute to climate change they eventually stop and the earth's atmosphere can recover. While humans on the other hand our interaction with the environment is constant and our impact only seems to be increasing steadily. The more constant pollution we keep adding only worsens the problem. So yes there are other things that can create climate change but, no other factor besides humans can cause it to become such a serious concern.

I agree with the point of there being other causes of CO2 emissions, but I agree with oliviad1 in that natural sources of CO2 are not such a large contributor to climate change. I think that natural sources do not have the impact upon the atmosphere that unnatural, or man-made, sources do. I believe the earth is equipped to handle CO2 emissions from natural sources like breathing or volcanoes. The sources we put on Earth-like cars, lights and various fuels- only work to harm our atmosphere and have the greatest contribution to climate change. I think we are responsible for climate change.

I agree with laurena3. I 100% agree that we are responsible for the climate change. Yes the natural causes are there too, but they do not make such a big big impact as much as we do. Much of the pollution comes from man made things. Lights, transportation, heating our houses and so much more. The plastic we throw away is probably the biggest factor. When plastic is put in a landfill, methane is released, which is even more potent than CO2. The greenhouse effect really points out everything the human race is doing wrong. The only thing is more people are causing it than people trying to stop it. Which is not helping. Having all these gases go into our atmosphere and warm the earth needs to be slowed down, even better stopped. Yes some of the gases come from wild fires and volcanos, but climate change is mostly our fault.

I agree with you I think we are responsible for climate change because of the Co2 and greenhouse gases we emit into the atmosphere we could really cut down on how much we let out into our environment. However I also agree that there are natural sources of Co2 that the Earth lets out on its own which also contributes to climate change like volcanoes, however I don't think it should affect us to this extent, we are a high contributor to climate change because of our human activities each day.

I agree with you, there's something called paleoclimatology which is the study of the Earth's past climate changes and this can be used to study fossils such as plant fossils or mammal fossils. Plant fossils where the ones that showed they directed more with climate change than mammals, but this shows that 55 million year old leaves can show us that carbon dioxide was four times as bad back then. This states that humans are not the only cause of climate change. Also when we extract and burn fossil fuels like petroleum or coal, we then release a chain of carbon dioxide and then the greenhouse gas effect sort of quarantines the heat into the atmosphere.

I agree totally, there are things we can do about global warming and a big amount of carbon dioxide in the world, however we cannot completely dominate the atmosphere and remove all the carbon dioxide from it. Carbon on our Earth has increased quite a bit over the past century, and will continue growing not only because of the humans, but volcanic eruptions and surprisingly, cows because their gas and waste is so toxic as well as CO2 and acid in the oceans. You make a very good point because you talk about what we can do about it and that we have immensely contributed to the carbon in the atmosphere, yet you explain that we are not the only ones that are a part of this contribution. There is a lot of political controversy about this topic, however its pretty clear that we are the main cause of global warming with some other organisms on Earth. Scientists should be aware of all this carbon dioxide releasing in the atmosphere because there could be another PETM that occurs depending on how much CO2 is in the world currently.

Yes, it is true that there is also part of the nature that plays role in our climate change. Changes in our temperature has been happening for billions of years even before humans were on Earth. Ice age is a great example that proves Earth has been having its natural climate changes. Volcanic eruptions realse high amounts of carbon dioxiode and fumes in the atmosephere causing the natural climate change.
However i also believe humans play a major role in climate changes in Earth that are leading into serious problmes. Human activies such as transportation relase high amounts of Carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Average emission of carbon dioxide for an average person is 4 tons per year causing the Earth's average temperature to heat up faster then it has ever done.

I'm totally agree we are note the only ones or things that create carbon dioxide, but we can make a change for it and contribute to lower it. We can change daily habits to degree our carbon footprint. We can use bicycles unless of cars, we can use a hard bottle of water to lower our trash, and any other ways to contribute.
We can find a solution, we can start a change, we can save our planet!

Climate change is most definitely human caused, we were the ones who put up all the carbon dioxide emitting factories and the ones who created electricity & all of the other things we use on a day - to - day basis. Without all those things, i believe that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would be a much smaller number

I believe that we are the main factors of climate change. We produce so much Carbon dioxide, sure animals breathe, but so do we, and that's not the main factor of carbon dioxide. Planes, factories, electricity, etc are the main contributors to climate change.
