But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

I'm not sure if climate change has been a human-caused issue or a nature caused or both. I've heard its human-caused, and I have even received proof with our co2 emissions. But I'm sure nature has something to do with it too...i'm just not sure exactly what...
Nature does affect it but naturally; carbon dioxide in the atmosphere changes, however, 97% of scientists agree that climate change is human-caused or anthropogenic. Nature does help the carbon dioxide though as well, seeing as plants "breathe" carbon dioxide.
oooh okay I get it now... a lot of the carbon dioxide is taken in by plants... so why would carbon emissions be a problem? are we creating too much carbon dioxide? or maybe carbon dioxide that isn't healthy for plants to take it?
Carbon dioxide is carbon dioxide. However, the plants can only take up so much carbon. This is why there is still so much in the atmosphere, and why the ocean has been becoming more acidic.

so the letter that we have to write to a public official should state an idea of how we can lower those emissions...right?
Yep! And we can use ideas that we learned about so that we don't have to make it up if we don't want.
