But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

It is real, but not totally because of humans.
See, the Earth undergoes constant changes in temperature resulting in long time periods of great heat, and long time periods of great cold known as an ice age. After the last ice age the Earth has been slowly increasing in temperature until it reaches it's next hot stage. Humans play a very small role in climate changed compared to the earth itself, but instead humans are only slightly increasing the speed at which the Earth heats up.
I agree to what you said to an extent. I believe that the humans are accelerating the process of the warming on Earth, but not slightly. I think that humans have a great impact on the Earth. If everyone decided to do the little things around the house(turing off lights, saving water, etc.) the acceleration speed of Global warming could be massively slower. I think that the fate of the world lies on us, and to save it, we need to unite.
I agree with what you said about how the climate changes on its own, but global warming climate change is mostly the consequence of the need and wants of the growing population of humans. All the things that humans do to send food around the earth, grow food (plants and animals), ship clothing, medical supplies or luxury items increases toxic waste and greenhouse gases. These activities contribute to the increasing global warming caused by humans.
While it is true that the earth goes through a natural cycle periods of warming and cooling on a larger scale, scientists have proven that today's global warming goes past just this natural cycle, and stems from anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. Key proof is that in a natural cycle, CO2 emissions often lag behind the rising temperatures because it is a result of milankovitch cycles. Today, however, we see the rising COs emissions actually ahead of the warming, which shows that the cycle is not natural. It would ultimately be ignorant and a grave mistake to afford global warming to a natural cycle. We are in a position where we have already caused serious damage to our planet, and it is crucial that we find ways to lower greenhouse gas emissions rather than letting the already dire situation worsen.
