But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Climate change is real and is caused by an increase in man-made greenhouse gas emissions. It’s caused by an increase in CO2 and methane. Those two gases aren’t bad when they’re in a limited amount since they are necessary for controlling the temperature of Earth, but since we’re mass-producing it, the qualities are out of control, which eventually, increases the overall temperature of Earth. That, in turn, results in global warming and climate change.
Pollution is leading to global warming since the gases that are emitted are affecting the balance in our atmosphere. Our planet is heated since solar radiation is taken in by our atmosphere, but most of it gets reflected out into space. The heat energy that’s now on the outer surface of the atmosphere is then soaked up by the greenhouse gases and is reflected onto our planet’s surface. Depending on the amount of greenhouse gases that we produce, it will determine how much heat energy will penetrate our atmosphere, and that will determine the overall temperature of our planet. Global warming does not only affect the temperature. Due to the higher temperatures, the water cycle is disturbed and since with warmer air, more moisture is obtained, and that in turn, is also increasing the temperature since water vapor is classified as a greenhouse gas. This will also cause more extreme weather to happen.
Climate change and global warming is caused by humans and humans are completely responsible. Humans are burning fossil fuel and that’s a part of the problem. The biggest contributors to this issue are factories and power plants which cause more than half of the total emissions. Different methods of transportation we use make up one third of the total. Out of all of these different factors, it’s all humans who are doing this. We are the ones contaminating our planet and we have to take action to stop it and prevent it from getting worse.
