Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint - Morgan

Morgann

HI, my name is Morgan! I live in Mooresville North Carolina, U.S. I'm 15 years old. The total on my carbon footprint was  18,762 kgs, my average was higher then most... The majority of it came from transportation uses, My results really didn't shock me, because i'm always out doing something with someone!  The purchases one really shocked me because i go out an buy a lot of things, from the gas station, makeup store, starbucks, etcc.. I learned that going out a lot does really add up in the end you just never will believe it until you see numbers !  In the future I probably wont go out so much because once I start driving myself i'm going to have to pay for it all, my gas! The car its self, and what ever else I  may want while I go out.

We have about the same footprint, the majority of mine was transportation too.  I have to pay for gas too very exxpensive.

My total was a lot higher but we have the same problem with transportation.
