The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

What Climate Change is and how it can be Prevented
Climate change is a problem that is happening right now because of our carbon footprint. Some examples are that wildfires are more common, heat waves are more common, and there are more droughts throughout the world. Because global warming is an issue that is happening right now because the overall global weather has been rising every year. It has been warmer every year for the past 38 years than the 20th century average. Also, the 12th warmest years have occurred after 1998 and the hottest year for the US happened in 2012. The reason this is all happening is because we load our atmosphere with carbon dioxide that comes from the fossil fuels burned for energy, oil, natural gas, and coal. Global scientists agree that global warming is human caused.
Global warming is having its effects on the earth and to our health. There are more dangerous heat waves happening throughout the world and happening more often than it did 60 years ago. Climate change also has its effects on our health because it increases air pollution and has a longer allergy season. And because of the high er overall temperature there is more rain that falls during heavy downpours which can increase flooding. We can decrease these problems if we reduce our emissions and stop deforestation. We also must reduce the fuels burned that trap heat and emissions into the atmosphere. Students and other people can also help by reducing their personal carbon footprint. Also, if we stop deforestation we can take away 10 percent of the emissions that causes global warming.
