Do You Sea the Effect of Climate Change?
One of the biggest indicators of climate change is the ocean. Firstly, ocean surface temperatures have consistently increased in the past three decades as greenhouse gases trap more energy from the sun. Secondly, sea level has risen dramatically along the U.S. coastline (specifically along the Mid-Atlantic coast and the Gulf coast). As sea levels rise, coastal flooding has become more frequent as well. Thirdly, the increasing levels of atmospheric CO2 have led to ocean acidification, which can be detrimental to the health of certain aquatic animals. As a result, the biodiversity and productivity of ocean ecosystems decline.
Another biggest impact of the climate change is on the polar bears. Polar bears are struggling in finding food and losing their habitat for mating since the sea ice melting faster than before.
