But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are we the cause of the climate rapidly changing and are we the cause of this rapid increase in co2 levels in the atmosphere? The IPCC states “Since the start of the industrial era (about 1750), the overall effect of human activities on climate has been a warming influence. The human impact on climate during this era greatly exceeds that due to known changes in natural processes, such as solar changes and volcanic eruptions.” This only furthers the point humans are causing serious global change. There have been no changes to the climate quite as severe as the changes we are undergoing now. We are burning more fossil fuels each year and it is increasing our carbon footprint to the point of no return, further evidence explaining how global warming works from the IPCC. “Human activities contribute to climate change by causing changes in Earth’s atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles), and cloudiness. The largest known contribution co mes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere.” In conclusion we are causing serious climate change, And we are doing not as much as we should to stop it.
