Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Our planet is in danger!
Never in the entire history of mankind there were no such problems with climate change as it is now. I am from Belarus. Previously we have seen four distinct seasons: rainy and cool autumn, cold winter, warm and sunny spring, hot summer. But now we have an abrupt change in temperature. There is no longer the cold and constant hot summer. We have observed sudden changes in temperature. It's terrible, because the nature is suffering and people who have any chronic health problems, they only exacerbated the disease, people more get sick and so on. Can we fix it and return it to make the initial appearance? I think no. But we can try not to worsen the the situation. Everyone can make a small contribution to this.
Now we see scientific progress. People build more factories, invent new machines and so on. more and more carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere. To some extent this affects on the climate.
To slightly reduce CO2 emissions, we should extend to all with more care.
The world's best scientists are trying to invent new equipment that wo uld help to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. Scientists see the solution to this problem in clean and renewable energy. Environmental activists give preference to wind and solar energy.
Recently government have taken various measure to tackle this problem. Factories close down for several days per week,  and city dwellers are encouraged to think of alternative ways of  travelling around the city. They are advice to use public transport or bikes, give rides to neighbours nd colleagues, and walk more. Also we can help nature if every person plant a tree and make lawns with flowers near their homes.
We will help nature together!

It is So encouraging to see students who are so concerned. It is so important that you know that you are elements of change and that you really can make a difference.

you are right. we are changing the climate. A lot of species of animal have dying becacuse we don't respect the enviroment and our health is at risk. We would respect more the earth

Completely agreed; nobody really cares when they notice. Multiple people just think it's a myth that the climate is changing along with global warming; the only people that spread the word are scientists and people that benefit from it such as news reporters, along with the occasional person that actually cares, such as you.. Good idea!

I fully agree burning fossil fuels is bad, and the pollution created in the process is detrimental to wildlife and humans, especially in places such as China. However, scientists have only been tracking global warming for around 140 years, 0.000000000001% of the earth's lifetime. With this said, we have no idea how the planet naturally cycles and therefore humans cannot be blamed for the slight increase of global temperature.

I do agree that Climate change is a very serious deal in our present time because of how rapidly we are emitting carbon into our atmosphere.  This is exponentially increasing the Co2 levels which is causing our Ozone layer to be destroyed as well as our planet to start heating up.  Even though we have not been tracking global warming for that long, I don't think that our Ozone layer would be deteriorating at this fast a pace naturally our our glaciers melting at this rate naturally either.

I agree that climate change is a constantly growing problem. I don't think that enough people realize how serious it is. That is why I think that educating people on climate change should be a priority. Then, everyone can make small changes such as recycling, or walking and biking places that they can walk or bike to. If enough people make these small changes in their lives, we may be able to begin to help the climate. And even if these changes can't do anything, you don't lose anything by recycling more and walking places more. These things are good for you, too!

You are right and we should be doing something to stop this before something bad happens
