The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?
Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused? >
Climate Change is the "Common Enemy"
Climate change is, in fact, a real issue that we promptly need to solve. Unfortunately, there are some people, specifically politicians, who are not willing to accept that climate change is increasing at a very dangerous rate. Because of this, a war of denial is raging between these politicians and the scientists. Their intentions and views on this issue differ tremendously.
Politicians, in a known attempt to save money, falsely argue that human activity has nothing to do with climate change. They refuse to see that glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, wildfires are heavily contributing to the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and oceans that absorb these harmful gases become toxic.
They continuously deny that the pace of climate change has increased over the years, and that poorer countries cannot adapt to whatever occurs because of their lack of money. These politicians have no real evidence to prove their outrageous claims and simply base them off of their own, individual opinions.
Scientists, however, have gathered real, reliable evid ence which clearly proves that climate change is an impending issue. It needs to be discussed instead of denied and pushed aside. Climate change, without a doubt, has become the "common enemy" and we all need to do our part to put an end to it once and for all.
You make a great point, climate change is something huge that we should really watch out for, in fact, it is approaching extremely quickly, if people don't do something about emissions fairly soon, climate change won't be something people can shrug off so easily, once people really see these tremendous disasters that everyone contributes to, they'll regret not doing anything sooner. People really do deny these and make false excuses saying their people don't have enough money to do this, my thought is "does it take money to remove habits?" and no, it doesn't, no amount of money can remove a habit, you have to remove those yourself.
