The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

To Limit Climate Change, We Need to Change
Many critics believe that global warming isn’t real or is not caused by humans, but scientific research shows a correlation between human activity, CO₂ levels, and changes in the Earth’s climate. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has released five assessment reports regarding the present and future effects of climate change that offer indisputable evidence that climate change is already in motion. The article “Global Warming: Case Closed” by Jeff Goodell is a source that outlines the findings of these reports. The IPCC has found that 1,350 billion tons of ice melted into the ocean between 1992 and 2011, and the rise in global temperatures lines up with a nearly 40 percent rise in CO₂ levels over the past 150 years. Scientists even believe that sea levels may rise by three feet by the end of the century.
I believe that many people who deny climate change have not thoroughly researched the existing data about it, or they may be politicians or factory owners that support or rely upon the fossil fuel industry. It may be easier to focus on making mone y from fossil fuels or finding comfort in denial, but are those really worth the future of humanity and the Earth? It is important for us to acknowledge the effects of our emissions on the Earth because disruptions in the climate affect every one of us, whether we choose to believe it or not.
I agree with your statement about how those who do not believe in climate change have not searched into the topic enough or simply ignore the facts. Those who do not accept and try to help limit or reverse climate change will eventually lead life on Earth to its end. Along with climate change, I have read about and watched videos on so many species that are nearing extinction or are already there, such as the polar bears from the melting ice caps due to rising temperatures. We need to change immediately, or our planet will continue to become less suitable for living.
Global warming is completely our fault. Humans because of their activities have greatly affected the earth in general and not in a good way. Because of all of the emissions we give off and put into the air, the earth is changing drastic ways. As you mentioned the ocean will rise and ice caps are melting and those are very obvious things thing have been the result of our activities. But we are also quite responsible for many other things as well. According to National Geographic, global warming has caused the earth's temperature to rise about 1.1 degree Fahrenheit in the last century alone. This change in temperature has caused many species of animals to migrate to other places in the world. For example foxes and butterflies are moving farther up north in pursuit of cooler climates according to the same article. Also this change in temperature has greatly affected the populations of species everywhere. For example the invasive Spruce Bark Beetles are now thriving in Alaska thanks to warmer temperatures and on the other side of the spectrum, Adelie Penguins are decreasing in population because the temperature is also rising. It is destroying and altering the entire ecosystem. I hate to see nature get destroyed. Since I was a kid I have always wanted to do something to preserve and protect nature and every living thing in it. And this is great global warming we are responsible for is going to destroy animals habitats and we are all to blame for this. We need to create more awareness around the world about the issue starting from young ages and get everyone to believe in it so we can actually start to make a difference as a species united to help save the earth I have loved since I was a kid.
