The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Is climate change real and human caused?
Yes, I believe climate change is real and human caused. Ever since the industrial revolution, the world has been changing (drastically). Because of climate change and global warming, the ice caps are melting and polar bears are dying.
Yes, while I agree that climate change is affecting our glaciers, ice caps, and colder regions of the world, I also believe that there is more to be said. In an article titled, “The Ice Maverick,” on RollingStone.com, by Jeff Goodell, a researcher by the name of Jason Box discovered something that turns the tide of our glaciers melting. He discovered that soot in the snow, from carbon emissions, are soaking up heat, causing our glaciers to melt at higher speeds. This is urgent, and it’s happening fast. Dr. Box predicted, “There would be surface melting across the entirety of Greenland.” Not a few months later did it happen, and it left scientists astonished. Essentially, the key component is that what we are doing is affecting people outside where we live. In fact, soot in the air above glaciers isn’t anything new, and deniers are not seeing the real issue.
I agree, climate change is defiantly real and human caused. I recently watched a movie called "An Inconvenient Sequal: Truth to Power" that showed many research findings and examples of climate change just in the past decade and explain ways that people can help slow down the effects of climate change. I think it is crazy how much the climate has changed in just the past 10 years, this is defiantly a warning sign that us humans need to make a change. Recently with the hurricanes, high heat, and floods it is very clear that climate change is real and a problem that needs to be assessed as soon as possible.
Wow. I never knew about the soot of snow would be effecting the melting glaciers. I also cannot believe how big my carbon footprint was and how much of global warming is our fault. There have been so many hurricanes and climate change it is astonishing.
