The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?
Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused? >
It Is Our Responsibility Whether We Caused It Or Not.
Climate change is real. That is a fact proved by science that we must learn to accept. I understand that we as humans are not the only cause of climate change, but even so we still have a huge impact. And whether you think we caused climate change or not, we still need to take responsibility for it, because if we don't then who will? We are the only living organisms on this planet that have the ability to understand what is truly going on and what steps we need to start taking to fix it. Who cares whos fault it is. There's no point in wasting time arguing over who and what when we should be trying to figure out how. Instead of blaming our environment and ourselves we need to move on and start making some real changes to our lively hoods. It won't be easy an it won't be quick but it needs to be done if we want to protect our world. We want to be able to guarantee a good future for generations to come, so that they to can enjoy the beauty this world has to offer before it is gone.
I totally agree with you and I strongly believe that as long as we have realized our impact on environment there will be a change. I am aware that the first step is the most intricate one, but let's admit that we can do something. If we contributed to climate change, then we ought to make an improvement. I read something interesting in a book once and it said: Be the change you want to see in the world. So let's change something by engage more people into saving Mother Nature.
These are all very good points. According to this website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesi … rev1.shtml ; There has been a very steep increase in temperatures since the 1950s. But also in some areas there is evidence that proves that at some time those areas were warmer than they are now. Just like you all said it does not matter who caused it what matters is that we can help climate change. Visit http://www.davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can … te-change/ for ways to help climate change.
I strongly agree. No matter where we believe climate change came from, it is our generation's responsibility to help stop it. We also have to realize that climate change will soon start having drastically bad effects on the human race if no environmental efforts are made.
I agree and I think that as students we need to make a movement towards not using so much waste. Climate change has already made a terribly drastic change for the environment, acknowledging the approximately three hurricanes that pretty much demolished Puerto Rico along with numerous other islands. If that's not an indication of climate change I'm not sure what is.
No matter who caused what and who didn't, this is our planet, and we should all participate in keeping it clean and healthy so we can continue to inhabit it. I strongly agree with what you are saying, even as very young people, we can still make a difference by watching our transportation methods, and our waste. If we all help out we can make it more safe and clean.
