Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Climate Change is Real & Human-Caused

Climate change has rapidly escalated over the years due to the increase in Carbon Dioxide and other gas emissions that result from humans. Humans are the reason why the world is facing so many problems with the climate and so far, not nearly enough people are putting in an effort to change the way we treat our planet. Before there were any cars, factories, or any greenhouse gas emitters at all, climate change used to never even be a topic of discussion. The icecaps are increasingly melting and the earth is getting warmer, due to human's careless decisions about what is being put into the atmosphere. Climate change is very real and caused by humans, and the only way to stop it is to find new sustainable ways to live our lives without harming the planet and diminishing its limited recourses.

I completely agree with what you said. Climate change is absolutely real and is caused by humans! Like you said, there is endless evidence to prove that climate change is real from many different scientists. The pre industrial level of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere was about 280 ppm. While now, our current level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is around 400 ppm. This is a dramatic increase that only occurred once factories and mass production of goods developed. Humans are the ones who burn these fossil fuels, and emit great amounts of carbon dioxide, whether it is flying, driving or even not turning off your lights. Each and every one of us needs to start taking action and addressing the problem of climate change. All of us humans need to change our ways of living to really solve this problem, and help our earth.

Teeters- Like Casey, I agree, and I also think that the human drive for superior technology and civilization is destroying our planet. I also don't think there is any good way to stop this, other than unify the world for this cause, in something like a United Nations for greenhouse gas emissions. We also need a POTUS who understands what the words "climate" and "change" mean, both of which he appears to hate, or know nothing about.
