Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

My total carbon footprint was 22,643, I though I would have a better carbon footprint than others in the USA but mine was 5000 more that the average. Most of my carbon footprint came from transportation(12,148) and food(7,255).I did not think that food would have made so much carbon, I knew that transportation would have been the biggest part of my total but it was still way more than I thought.I think that to make my transportations smaller I will need to instead of taking two trips to somewhere try and go to both during the same trip.

What do you think you could do to bring your transportation down?
