Is Climate Change Real & Human-Caused?

The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.

But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?

In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?

Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

is it too late to turn back the tide?

runescapelegend

it should be clear to everyone that climate changes are happening and it's starting to effect our environment drastically like the hottest summer in europe this year and the northern arctic that's melting faster than anyone could have predicted which causes great concern for wildlife there and floods in the future. This still for some reason isn't a sufficient wake up call and this is still being ignored by the major public and if this continues this way, we might never come back until it's too late. it's estimated that the tipping point of no return is in 30 years and that's when our nature can't go back to the way it was even if we wanted to and tried to. I know it might not be appropriate to put this post on this sub page but still It's time to think differently and not just for some people but for everybody.
ps. not saying that you reading this should take blame for the global warming situation (=

I don't think that is too late to turn back the tide, because this will be possible if everyone in his possibility/in his own do every day something good for the planet. Especially everyone who has lot of money should reduce his emission of CO2, because he should have the moral duty to do that. For example the rich people could buy solar panel for their House, or they could change their car with an electric one,...
But I also think that, if we really want to preserve the world, the main States ( the States who has the money for change the tide: USA; Russia; Europe; Australia;...)has to impose some statute in which they obligate the community to reduce his CO2 emission with the risk to pay high mulct if the community don't respect the statute.

Maybe I'm too pessimistic, but I do think it is too late. Countries try to find agreements but the States that pollute the most don't respect them and end up quitting. I just find it unacceptable..
The problem is that we've already made too many things that need too much time to solve. Just by seeing the Earth Overshoot Day ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Overshoot_Day ) it is obvious that we can't keep going like this. Or the fact that people are trying to figure out if/how could we move to another planet. It would be wonderful to turn back the tide, but I try not to have too many expectatives.
I don't know in what world the next generation will live, if there's still going to be a world to live in.

I think we can slow it down by limiting our use of resources. But, in the current state of the world, it is impossible to bring us back to the climate of pre-industrial times

I believe at the rate we are moving climate change is nearly irreversible. No two people or countries have seemed to come to any clear consensus on what to do which is unfortunately fueled by the greed of our political leaders. According to NASA global warming would continue to happen for decades to come even if we stopped producing fossil fuels today due to the amount of greenhouse gases currently in our atmosphere. We would be able to avoid the worst effects of climate change but temperatures would still rise an average of 6 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately most of the world still relies on fossil fuels to power our lives leading me to believe climate change is a losing battle.

Greta Thunberg said, “I want you to act as if the house is on fire, because it is." Climate change is a lookming issue for humanity and there’s only one way to beat it, together. Over 7 million people marched worldwide in the most recent climate march so people, especially governments would understand the severity of the issue. We can unite and try to stop climate change, but humans have already released a lot of greenhouse gasses. Nasa says,  “Even if we stopped emitting greenhouse gases today, global warming would continue to happen for at least several more decades, if not centuries.”

I would say that it is real there are many proofs that this is real and I'd say it's mostly our fault. It is not too late to save this if everyone would take responsibility of them self. everyone help to save this world!

Its never too late to save the world, we should not think like that and not just sit around thinking that its just to late! Of course we should do everything in our power to stop climate change, it is our fault mostly. We need to start thinking big, in solutions and take responsibility for our action.
