The ISCFC is all about reducing our individual and collective contributions to climate change.
But is climate change really happening? Is it mostly caused by human activity, including our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases?
In the United States and elsewhere, there are people who are not convinced by the science. But the great thing about science is that we use evidence to evaluate scientific questions. So what is the evidence related to climate change?
Are you or are you not convinced by the majority of climate scientists who say that climate change is real and largely human caused? Why are you convinced/not convinced? What evidence might change your mind one way or the other?

Is climate change real and human caused?
Hi Im Matthew from Mooresville NC. To answer the question yes climate change is real but not completely human caused. I say this because some of the greenhouse gases that cause this are also natural like Methane and CO2. But Im not saying humans have no impact on the climate change because in fact they are actually speeding up the impacts of climate change.
It should be known as a fact that climate change is real. There is a multitude of evidence suggesting it is, and humans definitely make it worse. It was bound to happen, as cellular respiration contributes to CO2 in the atmosphere, but humans contribute with items such as cars and factories. These industries burn fossil fuels to create energy in order to produce items made from raw materials. The amount of greenhouse gas emissions has gone down since 1990 according to https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/source … emissions, but I feel that is because humans are becoming more aware of it. If politicians keep denying it's existence, the rates are bound to go up.
Hi Matthew, I’m Julia. I just wanted to say that I agree with you that climate change is real. I also see that you have a good point that it is not ALL human caused but your reasoning is flawed a little. Please Hear me out here!!! You said that CO2 and Methane are natural with is true and this is not the problem. The problem comes when we as humans create CO2 and methane in unnatural ways. CO2 is natural but it is not natural for it to be pruduced by cars, and plains, that is all human cause. Before humans used cars and plains (and other CO2 producers) the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere was fine (Which I think was your point) but now we are causing climate change because we pruduces way more CO2 then the atmosphere can handle.
Few people deny climate change, but years ago it was global warming, and before that it was a leaking ozone. After the ban of CFC C3's, the ozone hole has healed. After more extreme cold and hot seasons the popular term went from global warming to climate change. How much is us is up to debate, and how who is to blame is also up to date. Most pick the US to blame, for there are people on both sides of the issue, and it is one of the few places that you will see change occur so you can fell justified in your cause. No one wants to tell Haiti that they can't cut down the newly planted trees barbecue of soil erosion and element run off from the lack of plants to absorb it. Rather we just dismiss it as a developing country, that needs to use charcoal everyday as a common commodity of life. China has such poor environmental regulations and such a large population, that is is environmentally unstable. Air quality is some of their cites make smog in america look almost perfect. The combination of these two can be seen in most larger developing cities. As a compassion, Haiti is almost 11 million people in 11k square miles where rio de janerio is almost 17 million in less than 500 square miles. But America is the problem.
