Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

EgorP

My carbon footprint was significantly less then those of people in my area, and was probably somewhere in the middle of our class spectrum. I think that carbon footprints of the people in my area are so big because they travel a lot. I live in suburbs, and you need to drive your car even to get to a grocery store. This is a tough situation to fix because people would need to start carpooling or buying fuel efficient cars in order to decrease their carbon footprint.
