Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Education on Climate Change

rihill

Do you think it should be mandatory for schools to teach students about climate change?

ilikecakes

yes it is an important issue that all students should learn about so we can help each other as a society

It's definitely a current issue and spreading awareness through class rooms would for sure not hurt, especially in classes like biology or maritime since it's relevant.

I agree. I think it is very important to teach people about climate change and the things surrounding it. Last year I went to a small school called Billings Middle School. I had a global studies class where we learned about climate change, current political issues, and water scarcity. It was an amazing class that was really helpful and informative. Kids need to be learning about this stuff from an early age because in the future we are the ones who are going to need to fix it.

Absolutely, Climate Change is a current issue and students should be educated on the world around them. Maybe in high schools teachers could go more in depth with the topic and in younger grades give the students a simple synopsis of Climate Change.

Definitely! Students should know about climate change so that they can help make the earth a better place and try to prevent climate change as much as possible.

I feel like schools should definitely teach about climate change because if we keep up our environmentally unhealthy habits, then the future will not be in good shape for nature or for humans.
