Recently the European Union has decided to be the front runner in the fight against climate change. The EU is looking to create a protocol for the release of greenhouse gases and how to further develop renewable energy sources for its citizens. The EU leaders met in Brussels mainly to discuss the amount of CO2 emissions. One approved proposal supposedly reduces carbon emissions by 40 percent by the year 2030. This all sounds great, but it seems like a lot of people, including myself, are wondering if the EU can really follow through with these promises. These doubts and suspicions are mainly coming from environmental groups saying that the EU failed to make progress on limiting carbon emissions also noting that some of the restrictions actually made didn't bind the EU to the limitations. Any thoughts on the subject?
