Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Footprint

Most of my emissions came from transportation, any good ideas to help lessen the result of traveling?

joerdixon

Try to take more public transports as well as walking and biking to places within reach. If neither of these are viable at least try to arrange a carpool with friends or family.

I had this same issue. It's due to the fact that I took trips on airplanes but as mentioned above, carpooling or busing or walking if it's not too far is always a good idea.

Have you been on any plane flights?

Morgann

I had the same problem with mine!! Transportation was my highest, but it didn't shock me I go out a lot!! But if you've been flying on a plane that can cause it to go up!

I thought I would have the same problem as you since I go out so much but that was my second highest. Try taking any type of public transportation like buses, trains, or subways. You can also try walking or riding bikes!

AshleyLawton

You can try and travel by bus, train, and many more. I thought that I would have had the same thing because I traveled a lot but it turned out to be my second highest.
