Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Gardening
I've seen a lot of posts recently about people complaining that where they live is a huge aspect in growing a garden at home. And yes, I agree that there may be some barriers to what you can or cannot do in your yard. However, if you cannot grow something specific, what about trying something else? I found a great website to help with what conditions certain things need to have in order to grow efficiently. http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/hil/ag-06.html Also, try looking at the packaging in the grocery store. I noticed that a lot of the same products come from different locations. Try to purchase something that is as close to you as possible. This will make a big difference on the community's carbon footprint. And if you think that gardening is boring, why not make an event out of it? Invite people over and celebrate saving the environment!
