Energy Harvesting
Would there be a way to attach solar panels to the blades of wind mills? I feel that this could increase the electric output without too much difficulty. This might already exist but I haven't seen it and I see tons of wind mills when I go on road trips. There are a couple problems with this idea however, first off, keeping the solar panels attached to the mills might be difficult due to the wind. Secondly, the way the wind might be blowing might be the opposite direction of the sun, reducing the effectiveness of one of the two methods. Finally, the cost to attach solar panels to all the wind mills would be ridiculous and hard to do. If you started in a specific area and expanded upon that point, the cost saved from the efficiency might surpass the cost to attach and build the solar panels.
That's a great idea!
Have you researched this to see if it has been done anywhere?
I think this is a good idea, but in order to insure it's success it would have to be tested extensively. However, if it proves effective, I think that with the versatility that solar panels provide, this idea could be very beneficial. But if it is proven unsuccessful due to the wind and sun direction problems posed, solar panels could also be attached to other energy producing equipment such as dams.
