Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Clothes
You should try to buy more second hand instead of buying new every time. The clothing corporation is poluting alot when manufacturing new products.
I agree, the clothing industry leaves a huge carbon footprint every time there’s a new trend. This problem also relates to idea of wants vs. needs, you might want the newest clothing style, but when millions of people are buying new clothes it really adds up.
Instead of buying new clothes, I buy clothes from one of the many thrift or secondhand stores in my area. Not only does it reduce your carbon footprint, but it is also a more ethical choice considering the mistreatment of workers in third-world countries because of the fast fashion industry. It’s also way cheaper!
I try to buy second hand clothes as much as I can but sometimes theu don't have certain clothes or brands that
I would like. I found some thift stores that were higher second hand clothes with popular brands and that are also somewhat cheaper.
I wear secondhand clothing all the time, and to be honest I dont see much of a difference. There are many great secondhand clothing stores all over the place and there are definately some gems that are bound to come up
I Like to buy a lot of clothes, but thrifting is always a cheaper and more efficient option, and it helps reduce your carbon footprint. Other clothes that I like to wear that reduce footprint are the Adidas Parley Shoes, which are made with recycled ocean plastics, recycling materials to make new clothing.
I would agree with the fact that we need to by second hand clothing more often but, to make large scale companies and factories stop manufacturing new clothes we would need a large amount of people to stop buying as many of their products.
You should probably stick to non- designer clothing, as it could often be made not to last. Try your hardest to buy clothing that is more on the practical side, and will last you longer. If you do have to get designer clothing (say, for an event or something) than it would be best to buy it pre-owned in good condition from a thrift store or eBay.
I agree, buying clothes from a second hand store is much better for the environment because the material is not going to waste. Also, donating your own clothes is much better than throwing them away.
