Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

We often see electronics that we want to own and end up buying them, even though we have a similar device at home just not as new. we need to stop doing that, why buy something that you already have. It is a waste of money. You should use your electronics until they are damaged and no longer useable.
I am guilty of this.. Yes we should use our electronics until they are not able to be used any longer before we even think about getting the newest thing available.
I am guilty of this as well, and unfortunately so are many others. But I do agree that we should use our electronics until they are either broken or not in use any more. Then they should be given to those who are in need if they are still functioning.
I agree with you that, even though it is often tempting to get the newest technology, we should use devices we already own until we can no longer use them. I think cutting down on these unnecessary purchases is a great first step to reducing carbon footprint as it is easier to control than some other aspects of our footprint. I think considering the environmental impacts of these purchases is crucial and is a good way to break the "addiction.

Yeah, I agree since it’s hard to avoid temptation, especially when they advertise it so much and tell us to buy it and showing celebrities with these electronics and so we want it to.
Also, social media and society tells us to buy these new products, and we end up consuming useless products.
I agree with this. What is the point of buying the newest technology when we already have something that works just as well as the newest products? Sure there are a few details in the newest version of technology, but if you already have what you need, then those newer details are unnecessary.
I definitally do this. It's hard not wanting all these new inventons when there are so many avertivements and presure to get "the next best thing." But I'm trying to keep my electronics in better condition so I wo't have to replace them.
