Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

If you travel a lot, then you should consider staying in a green hotel to reduce your carbon footprint. https://www.greenlodgingnews.com/

I travel a lot, and I believe that travel adds up the most and highest amount of carbon footprint. The hotels would have to cut down a lot in order to conserve and protect the environment around them. They would have to ask the customers to shower less or have a limited amount of time, and ask them to hang up their clothes instead of washing. It would also have to limit the usage and turning on of the air conditioning.

I never knew about green hotels and I believe that it's a great way for people to reduce their carbon footprint when traveling. I think more people should consider this option when picking hotels but, is it more expensive?
