Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint and My Impact

Mag3.14

MWalker-SJR State                                                                                                                                                                                 From this exercise I have learned how impactful my actions are, however slight they may seem. I now understand there are some changes I may need to make regarding how to better my relationship with my environment. I never understood vegans or vegetarians until I completed this assignment and found that eating meat took a toll on my average carbon footprint. Just me consuming less meat could. make a massive impact (Holth 2017). I also underestimated the overuse of light fixtures in my home, or the severity of how much water I use during my showers. From the article I referenced I also found that purchasing clothes, brand new, only aids the devastation that is my carbon footprint (Holth 2017). Overall I have learned of the environmental impact that my actions and decisions have on the world, however small.
