Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Clean energy

One of the main problems in carbon emissions is the use of fossil fuels. Some easy ways to cut down on electricity use is to turn off lights when you don't need them on or unplug devices when not using them. A cheaper alternative to using solar panels is to join a community solar farm. Joining this means no installation cost and helps cut down on carbon emissions while saving money over time.

I agree with your solutions. In fact, it is a pet peeve of mine when the last person to leave a room forgets to turn off the lights.
