Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Today, I calculated my average carbon footpring in kgs. Before the calculations, I thought that my average carbon footprint would be similar to the average carbon footprint of my country, which is 5,736 kgs. My carbon footprint is almost three times higher than it, or 16,944 kgs. The most of it comes from my transportation, a surprising 9,953 kgs. That's because I live 45 kms away from my school and have to take a bus every day. This is a big problem for the environment and it could be solved with more electric vehicles. In my houshold, 4,721 kgs of carbon is being produced. This is a pretty high number and it could be lower by mounting solar panels on the roof, which would lower the emissions and by recycling more of the food waste. I would try to help the nature in the future by purchasing an efficient electric vehicle, such as a Tesla.
I thought that my footprint would be higher but I'm pleased with my result.
I have a carbon footprint who is lower than the average of my country (France) but higher than the world average.
