Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Lower carbon footprints

Daniel024431574

I think everybody can lower their carbon footprints by  showering less time and ride public transportation more and take less car.

I completely agree that we should reduce our shower time and take public transportation more often. Besides that, we could also take it a step further by riding bikes to our destination.

I agree, we should lower our usage of water. It is one of the main reasons our carbon footprint is so high.

Yes, I agree that we can lower our carbon foot by taking shorter showers and using less of our cars. Overall, there are many ways to lower our carbon footprints and it’s the little things we can do as a society that creates a big difference to reduce the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere. Some things that we should remember to do is to turn off the lights and fans when we leave a room, not using plastic bags at grocery stores and instead opting for reusable bags, use less water when you brush your teeth, don’t flush as much, and eating locally grown food because not only are you supporting local businesses but you’re also reducing the food miles on that food.
