Forest fires
Where I live there was a huge forest fire three years ago. The principal cause was because the forest was full of undergrowth which we should maintain. Not so log time ago in Spain, specially the area where I live, the people care more about (countryside) because they used to live off the land and there was a lot of livestock which eated undergrowth. Then when the democracy came and brought with it modern ways of live, the population of villiges abondoned their ecological lifestyles which reduce poverty but has damaged the evrioment gradually.
