There are many types of ways we can reduce our carbon footprint. One rule is known by alot of people, The 5 Rs of zero waste. The 5 R's are Refuse, Reduce, reuse (repair), recycle and rot. Refuse implies to refuse from talking any plastic items that you don't need that is offered to you, one example is a plastic bag at a grocery store. refrain from taking these types of items and use reusable items instead. The second R is to reduce. To reduce you can review your lifestyle and find out ways to reduce your consumption and save resources. try understanding where items you bought came from, be mindful and realistic about purchases you make. The 3rd R is reuse (repair). Instead of buying brand new items, try and reuse or repair the item instead. Get yourself a reusable water bottle, reusable straw (or no straw), reusable espresso mug, reusable shopping packs, reusable produce sacks, and reusable food wraps or pouches. the 4th R is to recycle. Try and recycle as much as you can, and find ways to recycle the harder to recycle items. The last R is rot. To rot means to compost. Try composting food, it not only does it act as a fertilizer to your garden but it reduces greenhouse gases produced by landfills. Now that you know the 5 R's, try to find ways to implement them in your life as much as you can.

Whether it's switching to a hybrid/electronic car or biking, we can all drastically decrease our carbon footprint on Earth. Another big way to reduce our carbon footprint is to order online as little as possible. Ordering online takes many extra and unnecessary trips by planes and trucks which also contribute to a lot of the pollution and greenhouse gasses in our world today.
