Many people, including myself, use technology like phones and computers on a daily basis. According to sciencing.com, approximately 1.3 billion people worldwide own personal computers. In the United States, roughly 164 million people own computers. The average PC uses 746 kilowatts of power each year, requiring more power than a refrigerator, which uses only 500 kilowatts. Computers add to the strain on power plants to produce enough energy to power the world. The production of energy creates pollution. The amount of electricity needed to power computers contributes to the millions of tons of greenhouse gases that are emitted into the atmosphere each year. So, using computers causes a lot of pollution. To help reduce the amount of pollution caused by computers, we can try to use our computers and any other technology as little as possible.

This is a fantastic point! In 2001, only 1% of carbon was produced by the manufacturing of phones, however, they estimated by 2040 for 14% of carbon being produced from this. People should start to reconsider if they really need a new phone or if they just think that the newer version is cooler. Reducing the amount of time we are on our devices is also a great start to reducing pollution.
