Unplug
A simple way for every household to reduce their carbon footprints is by unplugging all of your electronics when you are not using them. According to the US Department of Energy, 75% of the electricity used to power home appliances is consumed when they are turned off. Anytime a cord is plugged into a socket, it’s drawing energy – so although your device isn’t charging, you’re still contributing to your carbon footprint. Unplugging your electronics when you are not using them is a really simple way to reduce your carbon footprint.
