Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Humans are the main cause of climate change. Burning fossil fuels releases large amounts of carbon dioxide that warms the environment. The main thing that contributes to climate change is transportation. If more people carpooled whenever they could or used a method of transportation other that driving it would make a huge difference. Although these changes would help the environment immensely, there is an even bigger problem.
That is that most people don’t even know what global warming is. I think education others on what climate change is and what some causes and effects are would really make a difference. Before this unit I didn’t realize that something as simple as not turning off my light could affect our climate. The reason things aren’t being done to reduce the rates of carbon dioxide release is that people don’t know what causes it. If everyone was educated on climate change a greater difference could be made.
