The future

I think that eventually in the close future everyone should think about switching to a hybrid or even an all electric car if they haven't already. Just from switching to a gasoline powered car to an electric car can save over 4.4 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Especially with car companies starting to make more new models of cars that are hybrid or at least support a eco mode to make the cars more fuel efficient.

Hello, I agree with your point that hybrid and electric cars could become viable. However, all electric and hybrid cars right now (Mercedes EQ C/S/S SUV/E, Volkswagen GTE/e-golf/e-up!, Tesla Model S/Y/X/3/Roadster/Semi/Cybertruck, Jaguar E-Pace, Toyota Prius, BMW i8/i3) are facing issues, including quality control, low sales, high prices, a general lack of charging infrastructure, range anxiety, cramped space, no power, brutal accidents, and much more. It's true that's its important to save carbon dioxide but until electric cars can match petrol power no one will be willing to use these products. Also, these electric cars also have unethical sources of power - the electricity that is being drawn from the chargers from the power plant isn't exactly what you'd call "green". Secondly, the multitude of electric cars on the road have only had a minor impact on emissions, because it's still being offset by the big producers of carbon dioxide. This eco mode you talk of only really exists in BMW cars, and even then it just makes you uncomfortable by turning off the air conditioning and the radio, which throws you back into a Dark Ages like prison cell.
