Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Minimizing CO2 in the Atmosphere

Makenzie C.

In this day and age almost everyone drives a car to get to work, go to the store, and travel. But did you know that burning one gallon of gasoline fills the air with almost twenty pounds of CO2? Which then effects climate change and is harmful to our ocean.
One idea on reducing our carbon footprint is to upgrade your car to one that has better gas mileage, or if you can, take a walk to your destination or ride your bike. Now for me, that wouldn't really be a great solution because I live about 10-15 miles away from civilization. So option two is to invest into an electric car, saving money and reducing your carbon footprint.
