You can reduce your carbon footprint by planting a garden. The plants will absorb carbon dioxide, and when you plant bee-friendly flowers, it will help the environment as well.
I agree with what you are saying. By planting a garden, it can also help with waste control. There won't be any extra food being bought or thrown away.
