Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Ways to decrease your carbon footprint

NicoletteC-SJR state

I was curious how much our daily food increases our carbon footprint, and thought about how it would be to try and grow our own food instead of relying on packaged, unsustainable ways of bringing us the food we eat on a regular basis. I was curious on gardening and if it is a realistic way to live and live without harming our environment for future generations.
This article discusses how food as a whole has a huge impact on the environment, and includes many studies and graphs to visually illustrate how we are using our resources at an unsustainable level, and how to help level out the negative before it is too late.
