If we don't start now, we'll never start
I thought that parents of nowadays should educate their children with a meaning of "no wasting things".
Why the parents? Why the children?
Children are the future and then all depends of them.
I totally agree. Our thoughts and ideas should be going towards to future in order to preserve and protect our planet. Waste in general is a huge issue on Earth, and the people of today need to know what we are up against. We need to keep the planet safe and beautiful for many generations to come.
I agree that we need to imprint onto younger generations the best ways of reducing our carbon footprints and maintaining safe greenhouse gas levels for our planet. In fact, to take that even further, I think it might also be a good idea for kids in elementary schools to have special classes on this topic, where they learn about climate change, and practice ways of being efficient and resourceful in everyday life. It's better to start this kind of education earlier so that the practices become more common among generations.
I agree that to solve the problems of carbon footprint, there needs to be a change in the way people perceive the effects of their actions. Educating young children is a good place to begin.
I agree 100%. People need to be educated about how our world works, and the impacts that all humans have on it. This is a very important topic when it comes to the Carbon Footprint and Recycling things. Clean energy also needs to be more widespread throughout the whole world too. To start this all people young and old must be educated about this.
I agree all people need to be educated in the effects of humans on the environment and carbon emissions so that we can preserve the world for the future generations.
I agree that young people should be taught that being wasteful is not good, but in certain ways. My parents always taught me to recycle as much as possible, and that every box can be reused in some way, both of which I now realize are very useful skills to have and very beneficial to the environment. However, I feel that teaching kids to not waste food, while good when they are young, should be more redirecting to teaching kids to protest corporate food waste when they are older, as domestic food waste is inconsequential compared to corporate food waste. Therefore, I do believe that you should teach your children to not waste our resources, and to tell others to do the same.
You're completely right, the future state of the environment does depend on children now. I personally know that I have always been taught to conserve water, electricity, and other resources like paper as much as I can. However, I think we should do better as a society to make these habits more widespread beyond just parents taking responsibility to teach this. In what ways have you been taught to conserve? Is it something you see a lot of people in your country teaching their children?
I agree! In my house I was always told not to waste my food, but in the occasion that my sisters and I didn't finish our food, our scraps would go to our chickens (as long as it wasn't chicken). Because of this we wasted a lot less food and we are able to then get eggs from our chickens.
In my opinion, It is important to teach children not to waste things, but it's more important to teach them to avoid doing things that may indirectly cause waste. An example of this is supporting or buying from corporations that produce incredibly large amounts of waste. Just buying from corporations and industries that produce thousands or millions of tons of waste is the same as saying that you're okay with it and they can continue "wasting things". If children are taught to stand up to these massive industries and stop buying from them until they change, then they'll be forced to give in. Because their main goal is making money, consumers are the ones who have the power and if the future generations come together and simply stop buying from them, then we'll see massive changes in all industries.
