Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Getting the latest technology is definitely a want. We don't need the latest technology but I do admit we need some technology. In the world we live in now, it would be really hard to get by without a phone or a laptop. That being said, we don't need the newest tech, but something that works well enough.
