Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Transportation and Student Footprints
Looking at my results from the student footprint survey, I had a very high use in transportation. I compared it to my other uses/ purchases and there is a huge difference. I believe the high transportation was from planes. Since its the pandemic, we don't really go out very often but when I wrote down the flight I took once this year, it increased highly. I did some research and looked at other student footprints, many have agreed that airplanes are a big problem. They release a combustion of carbon dioxide for how ever long the flights is. 1 commercial aircraft flies at most 300 hours. From knowing this, it makes me want to take different methods of getting to a destination without flying. For example, a post I had a conversation with was talking about trains. Trains release less carbon dioxide then planes. A good idea I would love to go for is riding bikes or just plain walking. I believe doing these methods will help me contribute to the world.
