Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carbon Footprint

JeremiahV

My carbon footprint was under the US average but I still think it could be lower. It was only as high as it was because of the transportation category. I could probably fix this by walking or using my bike for transportation to places near me.

Biking would definitely be a really good alternative from driving, not only is it decently fast but it is also a great way to exercise. I have been biking as a source of transportation for months now, and I feel pretty good knowing that I am reducing my carbon footprint by doing something I really enjoy. Changing little things like this, are what get you to reduce your carbon footprint.
