Clothes
We don’t need new clothing every month. Because, if we get too much we won’t be able to wear which would get small and would become a waste. If more clothes get bought it means that the stores would run out and they’d need to restock more often which means more gas from transportation be used.
A big issue in our world that most people do not know the extreams of is the fashion idustry which is the second leading producer of waste in our environment. What we see on the outside is cute easy to access, cheap cloths that you can buy in bulk while keeping up with trends and styles. But behind the scense is not very pretty. Buying cloths as cheap as fast fashion companies sell them means it is impossible for the workers to get paid a liviable wage leading to poverty. The fashion industry often overproduce products leading a huge waste of clothing that ends up in ladfils, burned, or in the ocean, all of which are contibuters to global warming or environmental destruction. A good way to fight against the fashion idustries corrupt ways is to use what you have and pass your cloths along. there is no need to buy as many cloths as we do in our material based world. We need to learn that we can buy used cloths and give second life to things that already exist or buy from sustainable brands that have proof of their ecofriendy consiousness or support small buisnesses instead of large poluting corperations. It is easier that you think to shop sustainiably weather that be your fashion, household items or any other meterial items that we have been taught that we need.
a larger contribution to my carbon footprint was my love to shop. Although I enjoy frequently shopping to keep up with modern day fashion, Its been pointed out to me that some limits must be set for my clothes obsession. Maybe, limiting myself to shopping only once a month for now clothes, and limiting the amount of money I can spend during my trips.
